The working principle is characterized by a driven die (roll) for the outer profile and a free rotating die (mandrel) for the inner profile which is being pressed up by supporting rolls. Due to the high pressure in the material of the workpiece induced by the dies the metal begins to flow. The diameter increases the wall thickness decrease. Until the process stops there is another very important effect: because of the cold formung that induces additional structure defects the material hardens.
